About

The Human Machine

I’ve been interested in ’self-help’ for a long time. I believe that the human mind and body is an incredible machine, and that ’self-help’ can be more than a cheesy marketing ploy (though it often is). I like to think of it as a self-booting process whereby we corral the strength internally to deterministically affect our external surroundings. It is a powerful process by which we cross the great divide from transforming our will in to results.

As an engineer, I see how we can impose our will on electrons and atoms. Having read a number of self-help books and doing some life-experiments - I’m learning how to impose our will on our own behavior.

Evolving Beyond “Survival of the Fittest”

My message is that the human race will, at some point - if not already, need to reprogram our underlying belief system. At some point, the human race will need to evolve to the next step from ’survival of the fittest’ to something more sustainable.

I call it ‘hacking the human race‘. I’ve just finished listening to Muhammed Yunus’s book on tape: Creating a World Without Poverty and as I listened to it, I began to ask myself if this guy is even human? His thoughts AND actions suggest he is breathing a different kind of air or something.

He’s laid the framework for truly creating a world without poverty and has been doing it for 30 years. As a human race, we need to find out how to replicate this behavior. If the motivation of necessity is not enough, I suggest to do it for another reason: Mastering one’s own behavior and using it to assist one’s community, one’s country, one’s race - this is the full glory of what it means to be human.

The Re-Write

We are not yet ready for Human Race 2.0. Until lately, I suspect that as a human race - we have not had the intellectual or technological tools required to even intelligently begin the re-write.  The purpose of this blog is to at least begin the discussion of what is needed to begin this effort.
