Run lean, pack light, stay hungry and stay foolish

by blogrdoc

I was just thinking about some catchy phrases to brand this website with.

Here’s what I had come up with:

Run lean, pack light and stay hungry.

Then… in the random way that the internet works, I came across a quote from Steve Jobs: ‘Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish’

I love this quote.

Applying this quote to my last post, any rational thinking person would ask me, “You are an engineer with a decent salary, what the hell are you doing going to Starbucks to earn $30 to do some kids homework? or $10 to put a craigslist ad in for somebody?”

The brutal fact that I must own up to is that I have no rational answer for you. I just think it’s fun and I feel like it’s good practice… for … something… something I’m not sure of. The entire experience breaks down the walls of my comfort zone and I think that’s useful.

Here in lies a paradox: To this point, I’ve tried to present my entire approach to you in a rational way. However… in some cases, you have to make a leap. ‘Comfort zone walls’ are not very tangible, but it doesn’t make them any less real. I believe they are a very strong force which keeps us from realizing our dreams. Sometimes, you have to take a risk. You have to take a step backward (or two) before going forward. Will any of this pan out? Who knows. To me, that’s what makes the future interesting.

So, if I may borrow (again) from Steve Jobs:

“Run lean, pack light, stay hungry and stay foolish!”

Acknowledgments

P.S. I did a whois on some visitors and I noticed one of the IP addresses belonged to Starbucks. Yikes! I’ve got a knack for getting into trouble. Let’s hope this isn’t one of those times.

Pay special attention to Flat-liner part that kills.
Here is the explanation - you just want to stay alive…. that is it. You are making up on your emotional and values power reservoirs.
I am now looking how I can do the same. Not decided yet but you inspire me to do so

    Alik,

That’s a good connection. I’m not usually an ‘emotional’ person, either [just ask my wife :) ]. I should add, however, that when I do my gigs, I’m not emotional either. Business is business. (though not necessarily paying very well right now, relatively speaking).

If I only relied on motivation of money for my entrepreneurship, I *know* I wouldn’t last. One of these days, my dream is to get an MBA from MIT.

I didn’t mention it earlier, but I love the ‘Snap’ video on that post!
