Ask stupid questions
by blogrdocI read through ‘Mind Performance Hacks’ a couple weeks ago and I was really not impressed. There were a few good gems in there, but the book was largely fanciful. In addition to memorization techniques, here’s probably the best advice I got from the book:
Hack #21: Ask Stupid Questions.
If you are unclear on something during instruction and are afraid to ask what you think is a ’stupid question’, consider this:
1. You are wasting the instructors time if you are mindlessly nodding your head. The fact that you are meeting with the instructor, teacher, etc…, inherently implies that it should be an *interactive* exchange, not just one way.
2. You will be expected to know the material after the instruction session. Nodding your head will only perpetuate that notion among others. You will regret not speaking up now if there is something you do not understand.
